A box

When given a world of options it seems impossible to choose one. So I prefer a tiny box :)

Create a Mysterious Date

Do you want to surprise a couple you know with a fun time? Create a Mysterious date.

Firstly choose a not too long route (mine was just over 3 km and was a bit too long) and pick about 10 checkpoints on it (including the start and finish one). Then create a short and fun activity for each of them. Here are two for example :
In this case the route passed a public drinking fountain. And the instructions called for a small water ballon fight.
And when there is a fountain or wishing well on the way - the activity is just obvious :)

Each activity should be written and packaged on an individual paper (maybe use this tip for folding notes) and not opened before the chosen check point - that is why every note should also include the name/location of the next checkpoint.

Make sure to include everything needed - water balloons, a pen for writing wishes, 1 cent coins... and preferably pack it in with the notes they belong to.
Pack everything in a box (or an envelope) and add a disposable camera. To make sure the photos get used up also write the number of photos that have to be made during each activity (or a the walk between two check points).

I also included was a small scrapbook - this one is for a date the couple chooses (maybe an anniversary?) on which they should develop the film from the camera, then stick the photos into the scrapbook and write some comments/memories form it - so the box/envelope will also serve as a sort of a time capsule.

Now all you have to do is deliver it to the door, ring and run ;)

P.S. If you have any questions about the project or need more ideas for the activities let me know :)

Iced Coffee

It will take chilled coffee, coffee ice cubes (not do dilute the taste) and condensed milk.
I make it heart attack strong and sweet :)

Necklace Hanger

Since I am still in the making of my permanent necklace hanger I needed something to organise my rapidly growing collection. It is not the most beautiful solution but it still keeps the necklaces from being tangled in some drawer :)

This is Ivan

This is my sweet little nephew Ivan and three facts about him:

1. He is 3 years old and calls me Joja
2. He likes to play with water but cannot stand wet clothes
3. He will light up at any sighting of a planes, trains, buses or construction machinery and tell us all about it :)

And when asked to describe me he responded:
Green like a box. And said it multiple times :)

A Sparkling Sorbet

A sparkling sorbet is nothing more than a sparkling wine with a scoop of sorbet. My preferred combination of the tastes is a litchi flavoured sparkling wine with a large scoop of lemon sorbet. Simply delicious!

An Urban Picnic

I know it got a bit cold to have a proper picnic but the rules of simplicity apply to any party. Pick a place, invite people (make them RSVP) and define the event. For us it was "Ljubljana beach" and invites via Facebook to the Urban Picnic event. My co-hostess and I kept it very simple: each guest got a sparkling sorbet and mineral water, three tramezzins and a muffin.

As far as decor goes we bought the the plastic cups, napkins (no need for a plate), straws and balloons in the three basic colours to tie it all in. By hanging the balloons and bunting we created our "private" space and just finished the picnic feel with colourful pillows for sitting, bringing everything in woven baskets and suggesting a bike as the preferred method of arrival. I also highly suggest a battery powered radio for some background music.
Simple, no stress and lots of fun :) What do you think?
P.S. If you are wondering what a sparkling sorbet is, check out Delicious Saturday ;)

A Business Card Holder from a Book

I did this a while ago but still love the look of it. The idea comes from the very cool Morning Creativity blog - the post DIY Book Business Card Holder. I will definitely try to do more of his DIY. My "Business card holder" in all honesty usually holds bills and I still cannot decide whether to cut the hard covers off or not - what do you think?

P.S. A piece of advice - do not use a  book with a lot of pages. You will be folding forever :)

DIY Heating Pad

A heating pad is a great thing for an ache or just to warm up a little bit. And this one is the easiest and cutes one I could think of :)
It is a simple 5 step process:
 1. Find an old pair of jeans and cut a part of a leg
2. Sew the sides and leave an opening to fill it
3. Fill it with rice and sew up the opening
4. Decorate to your liking
5. Put in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes and get toasty warm :)
